Ogun is the orisha who connected the spiritual world to physical world when the orishas came of earth, ultimately leading them to western Africa. Because of Ogun humanity is able to thrive on earth. In African mythology especially among the Yoruba people of Nigeria, Ogun is the first orisha to have come on Earth and earned the name Osin-Imole, to commemorate this achievement, he then thought humankind and the other orishas how to make iron, but was one day cast out by the other orisha and took the traits of a warrior called Onire.
